FIGURE IT OUT, IT AINT THAT HARD

The only way I would have enjoyed "the call" more last night would have been if Yankees or the Red Sox had been on the short side, but I'll take the Packers getting screwed any day.

IT'S SO THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN..

Tomorrow we start getting into the meat at Xilinx in Longmont with race #2 of the Boulder Racing series. Xilinx is a classic, my favorite venue in Colorado for Cyclocross. Bret Wade, who won the 55+ race last week candidly told me he was going to race me to "the log" this year. I'd recommend getting there first this weekend Bret, so I don't take out the ENTIRE field like I did last year. Annette Hayden caught these shots of me eating a big ol dirt sandwich there last year....love it.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2012 CROSS VEGAS RIGHT HERE ON A2B!!

Just Kidding...this seemed a bit more fun.

IT'S CROSS VEGAS NIGHT....2012

In 2008, Interbike was rolling along it's normal self with the addition the previous year of a new Cyclocross event which was called CrossVegas. The first year in 2007 the race had huge crowds and I was fortunate to have the chance to race in the Wheelers and Dealers Industry race, and it was something special. The entire evening made the monotony of working the show for five days worth the trip. The second year of CrossVegas was huger, and there was drinking, and great racing, and we had just a little bit of fun. I also got to race the Wheelers and Dealers race in 2008 and caught the action from my first generation GoPro Helmet Cam, it was fun in it's purest form. Tonight it is renewed, and I'll be riding the Fall colored singletrack near my home in Eagle, Colorado. For the rest of you dealing with the discombobulation in Vegas this week, enjoy the race tonight, it's the highlight of the week!

Vegas is a double edged sword, and Interbike is a bit overwhelming if you have never experienced it. The show will wear your ass out if you are working it, especially if you spent two days scorching the skin off of your body at Demo Days, it's a grind, and everyone thinks the evenings are filled with the hopes of endless drinking and the hopes of meeting one of the 12 girls that are there among the 4532 guys at the show, and some people actually do some business, and then they all go home exhausted. If you get a chance to get away from the debauchery for a few hours, there is wonderful mountain biking southwest of town, rock climbing and a ton of other good shit to do, so check it out if you get the chance. Follow this link for "stuff to do in Vegas" and go rip that place a new asshole, no one will know, because what happens in Vegas everyone will know is about two minutes, trust me.

OK, LET'S GET CAUGHT UP, BOULDER RACING CX #1 AT VALMONT

It was a fantastic weekend to kick off Cyclocross racing in Brighton and Boulder this past weekend with the Kick It Time Trial in Brighton, where everyone had a blast, and then followed up by some very serious action at Valmont Bike park in Boulder with the Boulder Racing Series Race #1. Ben Berden went back to back at Valmont after winning the Boulder Cup here in 2011, and Amy Dombroski won a hard earned race against Allison Powers, Nicole Duke, and Olympic Bronze medalist Georgia Gould (who had mechanical issues). I ran my mouth all day as usual. Thanks for the photos Dejan

HARDSCRABBLE MOUNTAIN IS LIT UP...

MALOIT PARK CYCLOCROSS IS MONEY!!

The Vail Rec District and Jake Wells put on the first ever VRD Cyclocross race last eve at Maloit Park in Minturn. It was a classic fall evening and the course was fun, tough and 40 racers lined it up for the contest. Thanks to the guys from Summit County for coming over...Jake Wells won despite a flat tire and a two minute deficit overcoming Ciro Zarate, Darron Cheeks and Courtney wawawawawuzup Gregory with two to go for the win.
