IMPORTANT MAVIC WHEEL RECALL FOR R-SYS FRONT WHEELS

VELO NEWS REPORTS
IMPORTANT FRONT WHEEL RECALL FROM MAVIC
Mavic has issued a voluntary recall of its R-SYS front wheels, the company announced this week.
Mavic is advising consumers not to use the front wheels from any of its R-SYS wheelsets (R-SYS, R-SYS Test and R-SYS Premium) because of the possible risk of spoke failure.
The system relies on a unique set of tubular carbon spokes. While front wheels rely solely on the tubular carbon spoke, the rears combine those with Zicral spokes and the risk of failure is, therefore, lessened.
According to Mavic, consumers should immediately cease use of the front wheels and return those to a Mavic dealer. The company has promised to deliver “a new upgraded R-SYS front wheel” at no charge beginning on March 31. Until the replacements become available, the company will also provide consumers with a set of Aksiums wheels that they can keep even after they have received the replacement R-SYS front wheel.
The company advises anyone with further questions to contact their Mavic dealer or call 800-664-9228 for further information

EVEN I MUST ADMIT THIS IS AN ALL NEW LOW FOR A2B

Even Elgee is left speechless on occasion....

Guess which one of these sick bastards in Las Vegas sent me this vij link?
Team CES gettin in some road work in the mild Vegas winter. I hate you guys. SQUIRT sponsored, and diggin the southwest sun.

SKIING WAS SO GOOD AT VAIL TODAY WE ALL DECIDED TO KEEP OUR PANTS ON...

So while it's 57 degrees in Boulder today, the snow report at Vail said 11 inches new which helped me drag my ass out of bed and up to Vail for first chair. Well excuse me for berating the person who measured the snow this morning, but he blew it, not sure what happened on his end, but the snow was 2-4 feet deep all over the back....and just sick, the pass was closed, no one could get there, and everyone skiing was pretty much speechless at the amount of pow pow today, Raspy's was a highlight skiing side by side with Charlie Evans when I could see him on occasion as we were just buried in the White Room all the way down....just awesome.

ONE OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF ONLINE DATING...

Is that if the computer does not like your questionaire answers, there is a chance you may get rejected by the service. Seems to me most woman would have appreciated this answer. I mean, is'nt there a bottom line to all this dating stuff anyway? I'd imagine there are also some very lonely houswives out there as well who would have called this chum immediately. I mean really, is'nt the basis of a long lasting relationship all about honesty? Or am I wrong? Once again, I must be an idiot.

And on a less serious note, check out this redneck smoke detector.

THE GREATEST CHANNUKAH GIFT OF ALL TIME

I realize that if you follow this blog at any level that you might be expecting a deep introspective post about my favorite Channukah gift of all time, some heart felt heirloom (sp) that has been passed down through the ages or something of that source, I do have that side to my schizoid personalities, however, upon hitting the post office this morning I was greeted by a Holiday box from my brother and his family in Boston, which is kind of like the presentation of the ten commandments in my family...and it was actually here FOR THE HOLIDAY for which it was sent. We have this bad habit of either sending nothing at all or getting it out just in time for the next years Holiday, a year or so late. So when I opened up the box, with hesitation, as I thought it might be some type of Unibomber explosive devise after I personally knocked the Red Sox out of the World Series this year...well, I must say I found the greatest Channukah gift ever. TWO boxes of the Little Rascals DVD collection, which means, 12 discs, each with 9 or 10 episodes. You may all find this hard to believe, but I watched the Little Rascals religously right BEFORE I went to school everyday as a child in New Jersey, which was very helpful for my behavior while at school as I learned the art of sarcasm and smartassness at a very early age. Then Michael Jackson goes and buys the rights to the film and pulls it off the airways because he finds the portrayal of Buckwheat racist and inappropritate to show on TV while he is sticking his hands down little boys underwear at his deceivingly evil backyard amusement park. Well, now thanks to my bro I have my hands back on these DVD gems and will once again laugh my way through every episode...heaven. Life is soooo simple it is scarry.

RACHEL LLOYD SECOND IN BELGIUM TURVUREN CX RACE

BenRossPhotography.com
As reported in Velo News, American Rachel Lloyd (California Giant)scored a podge spot in BELGIUM today when she was second at the Tervuren, Belgium, cyclocross on Sunday, finishing just behind former world champion Daphny Van den Brand.
Lloyd had an interesting quote in the Velo News when she said "It seemed like I got a pretty good gap, but I didn't really want to ride the whole race solo," to which Elgee says...huh? You were off the front in THE TURVUREN RACE IN BELGIUM, and had a gap on the former world champ, and wanted to sit up and wait for a group ride? WHAT? Rachel, paleeease, call me if you need the motivation to attack and bury the competition if it is at all possible...I say CRUSH her next time you have the opportunity...NO MORE MRS. NICE GURL....take what is rightfully yours...

WELCOME HOME TO EAGLE, COLORADO....

After 8 stellar days in the great Northwood, A2B has arrived back on the home turf to more snow, not exactly what I was hoping for in Eagle this morning. Driving home in a snowstorm from Denver last night reminded me of how much I HATE winter driving here. The good news, the BEAV got 10 inches of new snow, the bad news, it's 4 FUCKING DEGREES BELOW ZERO IN EAGLE this morning and the snow is piled so high in the streets I'm staying in bed. How is it possible to have more snow on the ground than last year? Well, if you'd like to know, MOVE TO EAGLE , COLORADO. I'm going to say CultCross 2009 is already in jeapordy as we are just 10 weeks away from the START of NEXT cross season, or did it already start with Oskar Blues Cross yesterday which I unfortunately missed?

AND WE ARE OFF AND RUNNING IN 2009

On the way to the hot tub and the now infamous
"-4 degrees naked luge ride of death"
down to the lake from the backyard Jacuzzi.
"COWS"
Don't even ask, I'll tell you more when I get back to Colorado. It's 5pm here in Minnesota on the 1/1/09 and I'm just waking up. The cows pictured had alot to do with it, "COWS"....the greatest board (gambling) game ever? Do not bother Googling the game, it's the only one of it's kind, custom made by a local wood worker here in Grand Rapids. Racing colored cows for money is the bomb, especially after many brews. This is one game where hitting a "CASH COW" will cook your goose. If you look close enough you will see each cow has an authentic cowbell hanging from it's neck to which I reply...more cowbell!
Off to the Twin Cities in the morn for yet more fun. Can you here me Crossniacs?
