BETI BIKE BASH POWER PODIUM

The third annual Beti Bike Bash was hosted and put together by Amy Thomas (McSizzle) and the rest of the Yeti Beti team. Fantastic racing and incredible sportsmanship was shown by these power house woman when Teal Stetson Lee racing for Luna crashed badly on lap one. Erin Huck who was in the lead group stopped racing to make sure she was ok and would be properly attended too, re mounted her steed, and chased hard for four more laps to finish third, just half of a second out of second and a very impressive ride from Chloe Woodruff. Just fourteen seconds in front of both of these riders was Heather Irmager, who took the win. Gross, Compton, Smith and Boniface rounded out the top spots in this photo...great day, great event. Cheers ladies.

It's the third annual Beti Bike Bash with big thanks to Amy Thomas for putting this amazing event together. 250+ women on mountain bikes and me on the Mic. Ok, I'll do that. On my recent visit to Florida, I made sure 85 year old mom finally made the blog for her birthday and Mother's day, all though she would not be happy with me about that, so what's new...

ANOTHER NEW EXPERIENCE, LOVING LIFE, KIND OF

Last night was a new experience for me. Upon completion of announcing the first complete Vail Rec District Town Series MTB race I had to drive to Denver to prep for working this weekend as well as seeing my girlfriend, which by the way if you do not know, has been a very pleasant part of my life for the past five months, she actually likes me, as opposed to the former who resembled very closely something out of the movie "PSYCHO" (insert shower scene music here). I was exhausted upon arrival and had driven down through the foothills watching an amazing lightning show just to the south and east over Denver. Winds picked up late, and the lightening was constant for hours, rain mixed with small hail and the storm got a bit closer by the lightening flashes. I never really fell asleep due to the noise and flashing, and then around midnight the sirens began to blare. These were not your ordinary fire truck sirens, but Tornado sirens, and they loudly sounded for thirty minutes, and I became more alert and wide awake listening for "the train" noise, but it never came, just more hail, rain and wind. And then it passed and I fell asleep. It was surreal and scared me, and I can do without that ever again. Seven tornadoes reportedly touched down last night not too far away with no injuries. and I'm glad for that. Fuck.

DAMAGE DONE, DAMAGE FIXED...

Yesterday eve, the Hardscrabble Trails Coalition in conjunction with the Vail Rec District put together a trail crew day on the race course in Eagle Ranch open space. There was a huge turnout as you can see. We split into three teams and knocked out and improved the damage caused during the rain storm at the Eagle Classic a couple of weeks. The trail looks great once again. 

This is the trail crew I worked with, great job everyone and thank you for coming out and supporting, it's hard work.

This was the other trail crew team which I some how missed out on working with, better luck next time, we ran out of shovels and made them use their finger nails to scrape dirt...it was warm so we let them work in their bikinis.

And when you get done with that gem.... this day just keeps getting better. Yes, this is what you think it is, and it might be banned in Eagle Ranch, the cat thing you know.
