SOME PRETTY LARGE CROSSVEGAS NEWS..THREE TIME WORLD CHAMPION ERWIN VERVECKEN IS IN THE HOUSE..

As usual, for the big breaking news in the CX world, GK at Mud and Cowbells is reporting that he was contacted by Crossvegas promoter Brook Watts today and told that three time World Champion Erwin Vervecken is coming to the United States to race at Cross Vegas this year. Even I must admit that this would be $8 worth spending. It's RARE, to say the least to see a Belgian World Champion race CX here in the USA. This should be a great matchup as CrossVegas is an "American" and UCI type course, fast and furious which should help keep some of our top power guys like Trebon, Johnson and Wells in the mix if they are on...don't miss this one.

In the meantime, it's PISSING down rain on the eve of the Leadville 100, which could make for a superfast track should the rain quit this eve....

Another epic battle is brewing in the hills of Colorado tomorrow morning, fortunately, I live close by, and A2B will be there to see Wiens vs. Lance II in a slugfest for the ages I'm sure. Lance vows to break the course record, will he take Wiens along for the ride? Or attack early and go off. A2B predicts Armstrong and Wiens will wear down the rest of the pretenders and with 20 to go, Lance will begin his assault on the course record, solo.

Compliments of Kevin Kane's Blog, who is the latest Squirt sponsored athlete. Kevin spent some intersting time over in Swisssserland this past year training and racing, is on the U23 team, and will be attending CU this year as well as racing for them.

I would say Europe has slightly more interest in XC mtb racing than the good ol USA

With course sections that might be considered a "bit" more technical than some of the stuff we race on

With results that sometimes are very similar to what we experience here on our dirt, that's a beater!

BACK TO THE HOMIES

It's been quite an adventurous spring/summer to this point, alot of time at all kinds of events, meeting great people, riding some very cool places, but I miss my bros a bit. This weekend with both the Leadville 100 (where the crowds will come for Lance) and the 24 Hours in the Sage in Gunnison, I think it's time to go hang we the home boys should weather permit. 24 beers of Gunnison, here we come.
