The 2012 Cyclocross season kicked off at a brand new and dynamic venue in Colorado Springs with the Pike's Peke Velo Campus Cross. Early season form was evident on this technical plus power course and everyone had a blast getting their ear;y season CX on. Over 200 racers lined it up and Katie Compton and Danny Summerhill fresh off the USA Pro Challenge racing for United Health Care won their respective pro category races. Summerhill went from the gun and was never brought back all though Ben Berden and Yannick Eckman worked together for much of the middle of the race to minimize the damage, but Summerhill simply rode them off into the distance. Next Saturday is Dean Crandell's Kick It Cross time trial which will seed racers at call ups the next day at Boulder Racing's first race at Valmont Park.
