Just seven miles from the town of Longmont lies the gateway to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, Lyons, Colorado. This is also the spot where the fabled St. Vrain river (as documented by famous trout chaser and author John Geirich) leaves the eastern side of the the Park and tumbles to the front range, and it's full of trout, and I fish, so this is a cool spot. Making it even cooler is the Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons, where you can take a break, and then head out for some truly in your face mountain biking, with shit as technical as I have "attempted" to ride anywhere. The "Rock Garden" in Hall Ranch will have you either on your "A" game or smashing your head swan diving in full endo, it's the real deal, and I had to walk more than one section for sure, next time it will be a bit cleaner, maybe.
