THE WORLD IS ONCE AGAIN OUR OYSTER...

You want some of this don't chya?
It's hard to believe that just a week ago, 14-18 inches of snow covered ALL of this, and it's been a bit on the cool side. But the Gods of Hardscrabble Mountain have bestowed some love down upon us and we are once again just about as happy as pigs in pooh.
Above, Castle Peak from the bench on the west end of Catwalk, below, the view to the north.

Endless miles of singletrack live here, and this is just a fraction.

HERE'S A PRETTY BORING POST FROM RABBIT VALLEY MSC..

GREALISH LEAVES CROSSVEGAS TO START CHARGE TOWARDS 2011/12 BOULDER CX NATIONALS

Race Promoter Chris Grealish has decided to drop his ties to the Mega CX race CrossVegas, which I feel is responsible for part of the large growth in CX fields across the nation, and concentrate on bringing CycloCross Nationals to Boulder, Colorado for the 2011/12 seasons. Grealish wants to bring the races to the Valmont Bike park, which had it's first "test run" for CX this past season, it's a "manufactured" bike park which is going to be an awesome addition to the front range and their cycling contingent.
Below is a rendition of the Valmont Bike Park and it's "chutes and ladders".
Nationals in Boulder would be amazing as it's a natural fit, the crowds as we know would be HUGE, and racer numbers would be off the charts. Hell, I might even line it up to "time trial" for my starting position, (that's an entirely "other" rant). This would be an event of monsterous epicly proportions, good luck from A2B and here's to Boulder Nats in 2011/12!

TEVA GAMES JUST AROUND THE CORNER..

Once again, as race director for the Teva Mountain Games Vail Pass Road Bike TT I'm sending out a reminder to all of you who plan on racing. This event has sold out the previous two years and already has over 50 registered participants for this year. Be sure to register early if you want to participate in one of the richest road bike purses of the season with $2000 going to first place in both the men's AND women's field. This field is STACKED every year so be sure to get in soon!

WE HAVE A CONTENDER FOR THE 2010 TITLE

Funny thing is I'm not sure whether to nominate the fan or the cop...maybe they could enter the "Team Douchebag" competition for 2010?

DAMN I HATE TO ADMIT THIS...

But I went on a road ride with one of these guys today and as usual he kicked our asses...he'd be the dork with the clear lenses, PFD. I think he is the only one in the pic checkin out some chix arse while the rest of the USA team poses for the camera, I mean really.

THE FIRST ANNUAL POST FASHION SHOW HANGOVER RIDE..

First of all, if anyone has any pictures from the fashion show, of me, walking the catwalk, at Yeti's Grind, on Saturday night, please delete them from you cameras and computers now before I end up on some blog somewhere being called the "douchebag of the year". Secondly, Kudos to Tara at Yeti's and Everyday Outfitters for use of their retail spaces to throw a hell of an event in Eagle Saturday night. The Eagle County Literacy Project was the beneficiary of a huge crowd that was privy to a great evening. Thirdly, we rode hungover on Sunday, in a freekin blizzard AGAIN, and I could not get home fast enough. The only problem, the faster you went on the front to push the pace, the quicker you froze your balls off....just another weekend in Eagle, but it was damn fun. The 2010 Green Bike program kicked off Saturday as well, and Sunday morning most of them were gone to far away places, which means many potential drunk drivers were instead drunk riders, which in my book is a good thing.....

GILA MONSTER SIGHTING, TAYLOR PHINNEY TAKES STAGE FOUR

Photo: © Mitchell Clinton/www.clintonphoto.com
Wow, Taylor Phinney takes the Crit win at the Tour of the Gila yesterday outsprinting Ivan Dominguez and a super strong FlyV Austalia charge at the end of the race. Phinney made it two in a row for the Trek-Livestrong team at The Gila and it appears there is some incredibly talented young blood riding for this team. The Gila ends today with the toughest stage of the race, Levi Leipheimer still holds the overall lead going into the last stage of the race.
