It's Cavendish in Milan-San Remo, sigh.
Yeah, I know the road guys are gonna throw a shitpile fit, but I'm already bored with the predictability of the road racing season this year. Suck a wheel, suck a wheel, suck a wheel, suck another wheel, sprint 500M, Cavendish or Boonen win. Grand tours come, suck a wheel, suck some more wheels, Cavendish or Boonen win the first six flat stages, then drop out. while the guys that can truly climb under pressure (the four or so of them), somehow get through 2000 miles of racing without crashing out and then attack on the critical 10M of the race to become victorious. I'm already snoring. My vote is to throw a couple of Cyclocross races into the mix of the Grand Tours to keep it interesting. The cobbles are indeed awesome and provide some very intense drama for sure, But I'm over the wheel suck, sprint for the line crap. The true victors are the guys up at the front pulling their asses off for the wheel suckers, THEY should get the teddy lion and kisses from the hot chicks at the end of the race. There, now that I've probably pissed off all the roadies, I feel much better today. I've got a Cyclocross race to go run, I'm out.

ReplyDelete...er, nobody predicted a Cavendish win...nobody.
That is what made it so exciting.
Amen, brother...that's why the only road races I do are hill climbs...
ReplyDeleteIt's not the guy who can hidem save the most energy AND get to the front with his team protecting him...the strongest man wins, like in cross racing!!
Now the Critsters are mad at BOTH of us...
I predicted a Cavendish win.....I.
