Germany's Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm took over the lead at the Cape Epic in South Africa despite Platt dislocating his shoulder for the second time in the grueling stage race. Specialized riders Burry Stander and World Champion Christoph Sauser (Squirt Lubers), who had won the opening prologue and the first three stages of the race suffered a bit of a disaster when Stander tacoed a wheel and was left holding the bag on course, they were then penalized 15 minutes for accepting outside assistance and finished ninth on the stage. They will now have to fight big time to gain the 20 minutes they have lost to the leaders, it's not out of the question but it's gonna be a monumental effort with no more probs to pull it off.
