BONEYARD BRAWL, BRAWL INDEED...

Jay Henry back on top of the podium, but just barely, as he and Wells came across the line just a second apart, this is turning into a heavy weight boxing match on a weekly basis now between these two friends and competitors....might as well be Ali-Frazier IV.

Henry coiled up like a snake on the descent, striking viscious blows to Jake Wells, all photos from Avery Cunliffe. A new version of an old race returned to Eagle, Colorado last night with the re-birth of the "Boneyard Bash". The racing was heavy and furious, there were some great stories, some surprise results, and the usual after race shananagans at the post race party, which led to a professional race announcer having to find his car this morning, (trust me, I needed some stress management from my "other" job last night).

Jake Wells keeping pace with Henry, and clearly burying it for the cause.

J Dubs proclaimed in a post race interview that Jay was able to put time into him on the downhill sections of the course, which is no surprise as Jay Henry is one of the fastest descenders in the country..Jake is gearing up for CX season, and seems faster than last year on the MTB right now, he will be a force when the barriers go up this fall racing for Hudz-Subaru....

John Klish got a light bike this year, and got really fast, killer pic...

Tim Faia came over from Summit County to race. Tim is always a favorite, never hides behind excuses, and tells it like it is. He is also fast as shit on a bike, here on SS finishing third.

I should also take this time to thank the VRD for putting on a great race, and apologize in a public forum to David Burns and his wife for calling him out on the mic after getting lapped by the pro guys like so many other racers did last night, boy was she mad at me today....I'll buy you both a coffee next time I get the chance. Just don't get lapped again.
