A RETURN TO MCKENZIE GULCH....

The view from the top of Hardscrabble road into Gypsum Creek, two plus hours of climbing to get here.
With a commitment to the 24 Hours Of Moab looming, I gathered it was time to get on my old training regimen for one more shot at a win in Moab, something I have not been able to accomplish just yet, but we've got a solid bunch of guys to get after it this year, so it's time to put CX on hold and get after it for our Dusty Boot sponsored team.
When the alert was put out on short notice over the Facebook pages and texting requests on very short notice, Big E was the only taker and we headed up Pipeline, to the top of Hardscrabble Road, dropped the backside into Gypsum Creek and hit McKenzie Gulch for the descent home. Yep, McKenzie, the sight of my 50th birthday carnage from almost exactly two years ago. Ask Peter Davis for the details, if he can remember them. Anyway, McKenzie is still very "raw" and super fun singletrack, it needs some assistance from a chainsaw right now, but still rides awesome, I suggest you check it out...We saw a few grouse along the way as well, some alive, and some dead...yummy.

Lower McKenzie Gulch, it's got a bit of everything.
