Well, who would have guessed that, sprinter extraordinaire Mark Cavendish dropped from the Giro today as soon as the race started heading uphill again. No doubt the guy can sprint and ride, but don't you think there should be some type of ruling that allows you to keep your stage victories official only if you finish the damn race? Rip me a new one if you will, I just find it tiresome when the sprinters drop out when the going get's tough. I say let them have their own "sprinter classic" for three weeks somewhere like Florida. 20 Stages, all 25K, with a straight and wide finish.
