CROSS VEGAS WOMAN'S RACE TURNING POINT...

Continuing to scroll the the endless pile of vijeos and pics I have from Vegas week, I did not even realize that I had captured the most significant moment of the women's pro race on vij until I saw this. Late in the race, it was Gould, Nash and Compton who had put a gap on the field. Gould came into the barrier section leading the race when disaster struck and she tripped on the second barrier. A small gap opened and Gould never regained contact with Nash and Compton who battled until the last lap when three time defending National Champ Compton threw down at the end of the race a dropped Nash for the win...the crowds were so large the announcers could not see this section of the course and they missed the crash call, listen to race announcer Dave Towle, the voice of cross, as he continues to think Gould is in the front until the racers emerge from the obstruction of the large crowds at Cross Vegas 2008, and he sees Compton going off the front.
