WHEN IT'S ALL SAID AND DONE.....

Look, first and foremost I need to thank the living hell out of John Shipp from the Dusty Boot in Eagle, Colorado for sponsoring our team this year, you made this happen, along with Steve Silgay, Bryan Bill and Alan Christie, our loyal support crew.
One thing is for certain, when it is all said and done at the 24 Hours of Moab, it's done, it just goes away if you are smart. There is no need to talk about or try to reason how much time you left out on the course, because everyone did their best, it's over, it happens again next year.
This pressed piece of metal above says something on it, at the same time it says next to nothing about how it arrived in our hands. It has no paragraph about the amazing battle on the course between four teams, it does not tell you about Charlie Brown's monster crash on lap one when he broke his helmet and pressed on with the rest of us. It does not speak of Fred Reynolds amazing laps from start to finish and how we would not have picked any other rider to be "our guy" on the last lap of the race to try and take the win for us, there is no more driven and tenacious competitor than Fred and he did not come up short, we just got beat by a better team that day. It says nothing of Peter Davis escaping off the front on lap one with the lead group and throwing down a 1:08 lap time and how we knew he'd get us back on top every time he went out for a lap. And this award will never be able to speak of the feelings I had on lap one when I blew a chain off my bike and lost the lead for our team, had my most miserable night lap ever in Moab, and then was able to somehow pull one right out of my rectum and chase down the lead team with two laps to go, I heard my teammates and support crew 500 yards from the transition and their disbelief that I had risen from the dead. But what it does say is "2nd Place", and to me that is just plain and simply damn good enough, because it was with three of my best riding buddies and a support crew from right here in Eagle who overcame alot, and stood on the Podge together. I refuse to sit around and talk about all the "what ifs" as that is such a cheap way out of this grueling race. We had the two time defending champs on the ropes and they damn sure knew we were there, and they faught back hard and won the race. Cheers to them, and cheers to every single rider whom participated in Moab this weekend, that is one tough mother of an event, and I love it.

Air Bus post race chillin in the wind...

Barry Davis struck the podge with 14 brutal SS laps...third place, sick. Of course the Squirt Tent was in full swing right on the finishing straight... Fred Reynolds warms up for his first lap of the race, he threw it down big time adding to our then lead. Support was awesome through out the race.. And of course a parting shot, imagine that eh?

And cheers to this sick bastard, are you shittttting me or what?
